I’ll be honest…
For the past few months, when it’s been my turn to post here, I’ve persevered in thanksgiving rather than rejoiced in it. This move of ours from Southern California to Washington state has not gone as smoothly as I anticipated.
NOTHING has turned out as we envisioned.
Yesterday I discovered that it has all gone exactly as God planned.
In June, Josh and I sat before a panel of licensed pastors for our denomination for our own licensing interviews. Mentioning our upcoming move, these men of God insisted on praying for us and what the future held. After a powerful time of prayer and prophecy, one of the pastors slipped a piece of paper in Josh’s hand.
“This is what I believe God would say to you about what’s ahead.”
It was a list of scriptures, just the addresses, that the Spirit had prompted him to write down.
Josh stuck it in his wallet, and in the busyness of the move and all that’s followed we never took the time to look them up.
Until yesterday…
Then, I found words from God full of encouragement in trials, promise for our future when there seems to be no path, growth in times of drought and scorching, and these words were the last:
“…rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulations, devoted to prayer…” {Romans 12:12 NASB}
We might not have anticipated the barrage of dead-ends, rejections and trials that have met us at every turn…but God did and His plans will prevail!

Wow…that amazing what God gave you before the move.
So good, Melissa. Amen. He knows every step and sees it all at once. I’m so glad… Thank you for this.
Wow! What a testimony to the provision of a relentless God! May you be blessed in your hope and trust in God. Thanks for blessing me with this story of hope.
Awesome, we often forget in the midst of trials that God is with us and has a plan. Thanks for sharing.
