Why?

I could sum up the purpose of this site with two words: cultivating thankfulness.

But perhaps I should start by saying, I grew up in church & I have always loved hearing testimonies. Honestly,I just love hearing stories about people’s lives. For any uninitiated, a testimony, according to Merriam Webster online, is simply a firsthand authentication of a fact or an open acknowledgement. There are miracles happening in our lives every single day, but we don’t usually stop to meditate and give an account of such things. We may give a testimony at church or to others when something “big” happens, but what about all those other days?

There is a sense of awe as you recount what God has done in your life as well as a confirmation to those who hear it. This is why I encourage you to join me by leaving your own everyday testimony! Your big or small little acknowledgment of God’s hand will align your heart and mind and could very possibly bring strength and life to someone else reading it.

I believe if we would learn to be thankful in the everyday, dare I say, mundane things that our lives would reflect this grateful attitude. We would have a much harder time doubting God’s love and faithfulness when we have consistently reflected on it all the days leading up to the one day where things were more difficult.

Thankfulness doesn’t happen on its own and we can easily forget when we don’t do it on purpose. Maybe you’re like me and would like to keep the blessings God gives front-and-center, but sometimes get overwhelmed with life, pressures, and circumstances. This project is an attempt to discipline myself and encourage others to do the same while exploring the benefits and necessities of developing thankfulness.

Care to join me for an everyday testimony?
